When Roe v. Wade was overturned in the summer of 2022, we knew we couldn’t stay silent on the matter.
Since voting is one of the best ways to protect reproductive rights, we wanted to find a way to reach voters, menstruating voters especially. So, we created the Flow to the Polls campaign and Votex. Votex is the first tampon that helps you vote. Each box of Votex is filled with facts, stats, helpful voter information, and of course, tampons too.
This project was born out of pure passion. My copywriting partner Martha and I pitched the idea for Votex to our agency, Fortnight Collective, and as an agency that’s over 70% women, we were met with resounding support. We worked in our spare time leading the team to bring Votex into the world, including late nights printing, folding and gluing tampon boxes by hand, filming and editing iPhone video and running our own TikTok account. We couldn’t be prouder of our team and the effort.

Channeling every other tampon brand out there: Tampax, Kotex, Playtex, etc. We designed a box that could pass for a typical tampon brand, but filled it with not so typical information for feminine hygiene products. We even replaced the informational insert that comes inside of every tampon box with a voter guide.
